Presetting

From time to time, our fluid power customers present us with a ground compression spring design that requires a pre-set. This presetting operation involves the manual compression of the spring to a specified height (or full compression) after the coiling and stress-relieving operation, but prior to the grinding operation.

Depending on the part design and the volume of the application, AWP has invested in a number of robust presetting options; from single part, single preset to fully automated high volume, multiple preset operations. As always, each step of the presetting operation is subjected to the same rigorous quality control protocols, ensuring complete part-to-part consistency and compliance with the quality specifications for each ground compression spring produced at AWP with presetting requirements.
